About Us
A Pan-African publication connecting stories and perspectives.
Last reviewed: 12 October 2026
Our purpose
AfriBuzzer is a Pan-African news and insights publication created to help readers follow the people, decisions, ideas and cultural shifts shaping life across the continent and throughout its diaspora. Africa is not a single story. Its countries, cities, rural communities, languages, industries and creative scenes have different histories and priorities, and events in one place can affect people far beyond its borders. Our purpose is to make that complexity easier to explore through accessible reporting, useful context and a broad editorial lens.
What we cover
Our coverage spans public affairs and policy, markets and the economy, technology and artificial intelligence, climate and nature, arts, culture, entertainment and notable people. We aim to connect immediate developments with the wider forces behind them: the institutions making decisions, the communities living with the consequences, the entrepreneurs building solutions and the artists shaping public imagination. Topics may include elections and governance, trade and infrastructure, digital innovation, music and film, environmental change, education and the future of work. The mix of stories evolves as events and reader interests change.
How we approach stories
We aim to publish material that is clear, relevant and respectful of the people it describes. A strong article should help readers understand what happened, why it matters, what is known, what remains uncertain and where more information can be found. When a claim is disputed or facts are still developing, careful language matters. We seek to distinguish reported facts from analysis, interpretation and opinion. We also recognise that reporting about a continent of many countries requires specificity: a development in one country should not automatically be presented as representative of every African society.
Sources and verification
Good journalism depends on checking information rather than simply repeating it. Relevant sources may include official statements, public records, research, interviews, direct observations, recognised institutions and accounts from people affected by an event. The appropriate mix varies by subject. A social media post can be a lead, but it is not automatically proof. Images and videos require context, and claims about public figures or organisations should be assessed carefully before publication. When an error is identified, we aim to review it fairly and correct material where warranted. Readers who notice a factual problem are encouraged to contact the publication with the article link and supporting information.
Independence and fairness
AfriBuzzer seeks to maintain an editorial focus on public interest, relevance and accuracy. Coverage of a person, company, government or product should not be treated as an endorsement simply because it appears on the site. Where content is sponsored, promotional or affiliate-related, it should be identified clearly when such a commercial arrangement exists. Commercial relationships should not be represented as independent evidence. We aim to handle sensitive subjects with proportionate language, avoid unnecessary stereotypes and recognise the dignity of people and communities discussed in our coverage.
Readers and the diaspora
Our intended audience includes readers in African countries, people living elsewhere who maintain personal or professional connections to the continent, and anyone seeking informed context about African affairs. We want the site to be navigable and useful to readers with different levels of background knowledge. Explanations of unfamiliar terms, institutions and regional context can make a story more accessible without oversimplifying it. Readers may disagree with an analysis or point out missing context; respectful, evidence-based feedback can improve the publication.
Corrections, contact and transparency
We welcome substantiated corrections, story suggestions and questions about how an article was prepared. Please provide the relevant page, identify the statement in question and share any reliable evidence that helps us assess it. We cannot promise to publish every submission or respond immediately, but we take specific factual concerns seriously. For privacy questions, information about cookies, or the conditions for using the site, readers can consult the linked policies in the footer. Those pages explain the site’s stated approach and should be read alongside any notices presented by a particular feature.
A publication in progress
AfriBuzzer is an evolving digital publication. Its coverage, design and services may change as the site develops. We aim to improve clarity, accessibility, sourcing and reader experience over time. The About page is intended to explain our editorial purpose rather than claim a history, staff size, awards or affiliations that have not been confirmed. We will update it when there are concrete changes to report. Thank you for reading, checking our work and helping us make coverage of Africa’s diverse stories more useful and accountable.
